Jean Anderson
Hi! My name is Jean. I’m a Midwest-based community advocate, leader and creative writer. My intention is to share meaningful insights and curiosity through writing and community conversations.
Essays and musings
I have always been passionate about books, writing, people and justice. Together with my late husband Mark, a poet and political commentator, we explored the world around us. I realized how Mark’s poetry offered a unique juxtaposition to my own observations. Today, his voice continues to amuse and inspire me as I write my own essays and musings.
A voice for good
My career in not-for-profit leadership is grounded in lifelong learning. As I’ve gained wisdom and experience, my writing practice is a powerful way for me to spark meaningful conversation with others.
“No wonder light is described as illuminating. Moonlight . . . for the past couple of nights I’ve been shading my eyes from the full moon. This recognition brings sweet joy to my face. Now instead of shielding my eyes, I want to be awake to lie in the light and gather up its glowing rays.”
